Payslips and 'Year to date' information
Payslips now cater for the displaying of 'Year to date'
information. Included in the standard reports are default payslip reports with
Year to Date information displayed.
Ignoring lines with zero values
The Final Account Report Writer now has an "Ignore If" property
in the bands. This 'Ignore if' field is used to ignore printing the band should
certain criteria be met. To illustrate this lets assume that the band is not to
be printed if the values or results of the expressions in that band equate to
zero. If we are displaying current and prior year values, the 'Ignore if' field
would read as follows: (AccountPeriod(ListID, 'Relative', 0, 'Relative', 0,
'Closing', 'Actual')=0)and(AccountYear(ListID, 'Relative',0-1 , 'Closing',
'Actual')=0). Hint: You can copy the expressions from the expression
fields and paste them into the 'Ignore if' field. The help section will be
updated in due course explaining this feature in more detail.
Header and Footer bands can also be ignored by selecting the properties field
'Print if no data' to "No".
"Preferred name" field
A "Preferred name" field has been added to the employee
details. This is useful when employees are known by a particular name other than
their official names. This field has been included in all 'order by' options so
that employees can be selected by this name. This field is found in
Maintain|Employees on the 'General 1' tab.
Leave
categories
Leave categories have been added to allow for the calculation
of leave due for employees that have different leave allowed values. Should an
employee's leave allowed value change (e.g. employees who have been in service
for a certain period are entitled to an increase in allowed annual leave), then
the employee would simply be changed from one leave category to another. Leave
categories are setup under Maintain|Components|Leave Categories and are
allocated to the employee under Maintain|Employees on the Leave tab. Currently
only Normal and Sick leave is catered for in the categories.
Legacy (DOS version) issues
The "repair dups." facility
used to correct error #10230 has been included automatically in the 'Reindex
Files' utility, and no longer has to be SET. This, as well as some minor
tweaking to the Data Recovery option, is in the latest version of the software
available for download from our website login area or via the web update
facility.
